A glossy floor can be slippery when wet. The answer is not to give up the look, but to choose the right sheen for each area and add traction where water and feet meet.
We offer lower-sheen finishes at entries and ramps, treatments that lightly texture the surface, and recommendations for mats and walk-off zones. Many projects use a mirror gloss in dry areas and a satin finish with traction near doors and restrooms.
Matching finish to risk
Dry showroom: higher gloss is fine. Entry vestibule: lower sheen with traction. Kitchens, ramps and wet areas: traction first. We map zones with you.
Testing
Slip resistance can be tested with accepted methods. We can arrange testing where a spec or insurer requires it and suggest improvements based on results.
