Wet is the issue
Any smooth surface is slippery when wet. High gloss concrete is no exception.
Choose the right sheen
Use lower sheen and texture at entries and wet areas.
Traction treatments
Some treatments add grip with little change in appearance.
Housekeeping and testing
Mats, prompt spill cleanup and, where required, testing.
Look at the whole system
Slip risk comes from the floor, the footwear, the contaminants and the cleaning method. A finish that is safe in a dry office may not be right for a wet entry.
Traction options
Lower sheen, micro-texture treatments and walk-off mats can improve traction without changing the whole look.
Check, then document
Ask for traction testing where it matters, and write down results and the maintenance routine.
Quick answers
Is polished concrete safe?
It can be, when designed and maintained for the use.
Should I test?
If a spec or your insurer requires it.
