What Not to Use on Polished Concrete

Acids

Vinegar, lemon, and acidic cleaners etch the surface and dull it.

Harsh degreasers and solvents

Strong chemicals can strip the guard and leave marks.

Waxes and acrylic finishes

Wax builds up, yellows and hides the natural sheen. It is not needed.

Abrasive tools

Stiff brushes, steel wool and aggressive pads scratch the surface.

Why some products do damage

Acids dissolve the surface, strong alkalis can dull it, and solvents can strip the guard. Even popular household cleaners can leave residue or streaks.

Safe alternatives

Neutral pH cleaners, soft pads and clean water are safe in most cases. If you are not sure, test a small hidden spot first.

If something has been used

Do not panic. Tell us what was used and where. A light re-polish or a new guard can usually fix cosmetic damage.

Quick answers

Can I use bleach?

Avoid it. Use a neutral cleaner.

What about steam?

Avoid it unless approved for your finish.
